Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Superchannels have high spectral efficiency thanks to the dense subcarrier spacing. One possible issue is the reachability limitation due to the nonlinear crosstalk in the center subcarriers induced by cross-phase modulation and four-wave mixing. We have already proposed a subcarrier power pre-emphasis method which has a lower fiber launched power of the edge subcarriers to mitigate the nonlinear crosstalk in the center subcarriers for the reachability extension. We experimentally demonstrate performance improvement for four-subcarrier DP-QPSK superchannel in dispersion uncompensated transmission for various transmission distances and guard bands.
