| Abstract(in English) | With the rapid spread of smart devices such as smart phonesand tablet PCs, person authentication for the purpose ofprivacy protection for the device users is increasinglyimportant. For those smart devices, multimodal biometricauthentication can be implemented by the combination ofmultiple sensors such as a camera and a touch panel that aremounted on them. However, the performance under varioususage conditions has not always been evaluated sufficiently. Therefore, in this research, by focusing on face andhandwriting as the acquirable biometric information from thesmart devices and also combining them, we discuss themultimodal biometric authentication system on the smartdevices and evaluate the influence on the authenticationaccuracy of the system under different usage conditionsbetween registration and verification processes. Moreover, we evaluate the effectiveness of the system's adaptivelyselecting an appropriate authentication method based on theuser condition in the authentication process. |
