Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes a novel framework for image/video completion. Photos and videos sometimes include unintended objects and many techniques for removing and restoring such damaged areas have been proposed; most of them assume that such areas can be recovered from un-damaged area in source image and video. However, these previous techniques' assumption does not hold when the restoring target contains complex structures or color distribution, or the time for patch retrieve is limited. Proposed framework consists of three stages. First, input images/videos are converted to a lower dimensional feature space. Second, a damaged region is restored in the converted feature space. Finally, restored output in Stage 2 is inversely converted from the lower dimensional feature space to the original feature space. This three-step solution is done to achieve effective restoration even in cases where a damaged region includes complex structures and changes in color. In this paper, we introduce learning based inverse conversion in Stage 3, which enables us to use various feature spaces for restoration. |
