| Abstract(in English) | We reveal the mathematical properties of the histogram of oriented gradients method. The oriented gradients in local region derive a two-dimensional directional statistics, that is, distributions of oriented gradients on the plane yields histograms on a unit circle. For two sets of histograms on unit circles, using the Wasserstein distance, we introduce several methods to measure the difference of images. These measurement methods aggregate the differences of distributions of directional distributions in each local region of images. |
