Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In ventricular cells, pacemaker activity is induced by changing ionic current on cell membrane, although those cells are intrinsically quiescent non-pacemaking cells. These artificial pacemaker cells created from quiescent cardiomyocytes are called biological pacemaker, which is expected as an alternative to electronic pacemaker. Since it is necessary for biological pacemaker engineering to understand the dynamics of various ion channels comprehensively, we use the mathematical cell model. By analyzing a human ventricular cell model, we have demonstrated pacemaker activity was generated by changing inward rectifier potassium current $I_{rm K1}$ and hyperpolarization-activated current $I_{rm f}$. In this report, we quantitatively evaluate the pacemaker activity generated from the ventricular cell by comparing with intact pacemaker cell.
