Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we investigate a low-complexity method for linear array antenna arrangement to suppress interference using beamforming based reception with antenna selection. By selecting a subset of L antenna elements out of M-element linear array, the implementation costs of radio frequency (RF) chain can be alleviated. At the same time, array degrees of freedom are reduced, and hence, the interference suppression capability is compromised. However, a prior work has shown that beamforming based reception with two antenna elements selection with proper non-uniform linear array antenna arrangement can improve the interference suppression capability in line-of-sight propagation if the number of interference signals is higher than the degrees of freedom available. The antennaarrangement method considered in this paper is denoted by minimum variance linear array (MVLA) which has fairly high computational complexity. Specifically, the optimal antenna arrangement has complexity O(M!). Here, a low-complexity derivation method is proposed for MVLA. Numerical evaluations demonstrate the near-optimality of the proposed method.
