Abstract(in English) | The previous studies have shown that the scales around tactile maps for blind people can shorten the search time for tactile symbols on the maps. However, the optimal number of scales that shorten the search time the most is not found yet. To investigate it, we conducted an experiment in which maps with four different numbers of scales were presented to the participants and the search time for the tactile target on the map was measured. The results show that the 3 x 4 and 4 x 5 scales shortened the search time the most. This founding is applicable to our tactile map automated creation system. |
