Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this tutorial, we explain an outline of low power consumption methods for wireless LAN systems based on cross layer designs of the OSI model. In IEEE 802.11 standard, low power consumption is realized by using a sleep state on the station side. There are some discussions about low power consumption for the station, such as a definition of multiple sleep states in IEEE 802.11ax. In this tutorial, we show the low power consumption methods for access points. In addition, this paper explains a more efficient method which controls the sleep state period depending on a traffic volume.
