| Abstract(in English) | We are trying to make a real-time Japanese sign language recognition system with abstraction of hand motion based on three elements of sign language: motion, position, and shape. This paper considers the method of hand shape recognition using depth images obtained from Kinect v2 sensor. We apply a contour-based method suggested by Keogh to it. This method recognizes a contour by discriminators learned from contours. We conduct experiments to recognize 23 hand shapes in 400 Japanese sign language words. |
