A design of real coded genetic algorithm processor

Abstract(in English) In recent years, Real Coded Genetic Algorithm (RCGA) has been attracting attention. It is one of the GA for handling real numbers to the individual representations. VariousGA hardware has been proposed for speedup or evolvable hardware. However, there arefew reports of RCGA hardware. In this paper, we proposed a design of real coded GA processor. The proposed processor is implemented using the JGG (Just Generation Gap) as a generation alternation model and the REX (Real coded Ensemble Crossover) as a realcoded crossover. In addition, the evaluation functionsthat depend on problem arecalculated using soft macro CPU. The proposed processor isexpected in embedded field applications because of it can be implemented in one chip FPGA.
