Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a digital photo, there is a case in which the visibility of the object is deteriorated by the illumination lack. To address this issue, the multiscale retinex and its improved methods have been proposed. In MSR processing, a pixel value is assumed as a product of the illumination and the reflectance of an object. Then the illumination distribution in an image is estimated, and used to obtain the reflectance of an object. Finally, the obtained reflectance and illumination are tuned and a product of these becomes an output. However, since the tuning of the illumination in existing methods is insufficient, the output image often becomes unnatural. In this report, we propose a method for obtaining a natural output image by a new tuning method of the illumination.
