Interference Analysis of Cognitive Radio Network

Abstract(in English) Aggregate interference from a large number of cognitive radios (CRs) is a deterring factor to the implementation of spectrum sharing strategies. This paper presents an analytical framework on evaluating the amount of aggregate interference at a victim primary receiver (PR). We model the received power vs. distance relations between a primary transmitter (PT), PR, and CRs. In the analysis, energy detector is assumed for the purpose of spectrum sensing. We investigate the extents of which some parameter settings of energy detection may vary the aggregate interference level. Finally, based on the scenario of spectrum sharing between DTV broadcast and IEEE 802.22 Wireless Regional Area Network, a numerical example is presented to demonstrate the use of our interference analysis.
