Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The thermoplastic optical lens that made by conventional injection molding method is productivity and cost effective but having poor heat resistance. Thermoplastic optical lens module will melt and be deformed at such high temperature. Therefore, the reflow process cannot be applied to thermoplastic optical lens module. As a consequence, optical units using thermoplastic optical lens module cannot be mounted on the mother board by the reflow process. We successfully developed reflowable thermoplastic optical lens that the process with electron beam irradiation cross-linking and it enables 10-Gbit/s optical transmission. We confirmed it having high possibility of design flexibility for high density optical applications.
