Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When learning programming, it is important to learn not only how to create source code, but also how to read it. Previous studies have supported stepwise top-down refinement of code to meet programming goals. We consider such a stepwise approach also important when learning to read source code. Here, we define “stepwise abstraction” as step-by-step consideration when learning to read source code, and develop and evaluate a learning support system that incorporates stepwise abstraction. Evaluation results suggest that the developed system can support learning to read source code.
