Abstract(in English) | Space Infrared Telescope for Cosmology and Astrophysics (SPICA) is an infrared (IR) astronomical satellite planned to be launched in 2025. It is equipped with IR sensors, cooled down to 6K. It also consists of a high-power X-band transmitter used for downlink to the earth. Since energy leakage should be stringently suppressed from the transmitter to the IR sensors, it is necessary to evaluate electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (SE) of structural materials of the satellite, including carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) and aluminium plates connected with rivets. The CFRP plates yielded SE almost equivalent to the aluminium plates. The SE of the aluminium plates connected with rivets increased with decreasing spacings of the rivets. Applying a conductive adhesive to the bonding surface was found to also enhance the SE. |
