| Abstract(in English) | While smiling usually enhances women’s facial attractiveness, the findings are debated for men.When female participants were simply asked to rate attractiveness of male face photographs with smiling or neutral facial expression. the facilitative effect of smiling was moderated by relationship contexts: Smiling enhanced male facial attractiveness for long-term partners but not for short-term partners. These results were discussed in terms of contradicting needs for mating: heritable benefit and paternal investment. |
