Frame Synchronization Scheme Using Racing Counters on Optical Wireless MPPM-CNK

Abstract(in English) The MPPM-CNK system using the generalized modified prime sequence code(GMPSC), which combines the code number keying (CNK) with the multi-pulse pulse position modulation (MPPM), is considered. In this paper, a novel frame synchronization system with the racing counters for the MPPM-CNK of the MPPM-CNK system is proposed.The frame synchronization performances of the MPPM-CNK system are evaluated by theoretical analysis. In particular, the detection probability, the false alarm probability, and frame synchronization holding time are derived. When the false alarm probability achieve 10 to the -3 power and the average received laser power per bit is greater than -32[dBm], the detection probability can achieve 0.8. Moreover, it is found that the detection probability and frame synchronization holding time depend on the number of stages in Racing counters.
