Abstract(in English) An equivalent modeling for patch array antenna radar cross section (RCS) was proposed. Antenna RCS is composed of structural and antenna mode RCSs which are caused by scattering and reradiating, respectively. The RCS of the antenna connected to matched load becomes only structural mode RCS because reradiating is reduced. In this paper, the structural RCS modeling of a patch antenna was proposed and verified. Moreover, the surface impedance of the patch antenna was defined and applied to the 8 × 8 array of the antenna. The RCS of the array was calculated by physical optics using the surface impedance and the proposed method presented the reasonable results.
