Abstract(in English) | The authors have researched automatic traveling method of an electric wheelchair in indoor area so far. An operation PC gets map information from a database and calculates a traveling route by the Dijkstra’s algorithm. The wheelchair which automatically travels along a designated path takes users to the target position. The location of the electric wheelchair is estimated by the odometry which use the output of rotary encoder. However, this method occurs positioning error by slipping on a ground, weight balance of electric wheelchair, and so on. Therefore, the authors suggest that estimation errors are corrected by detecting corner by a laser range finder. This paper reports these proposal and evaluation experimentation. |
