Downlink Transmission Performance of 5G Radio Access Using 15 GHz band in Indoor Small Cell Environment

Abstract(in English) This paper presents the field experimental results on the propagation characteristic and downlink performance with wideband transmission using 5G radio access testbed at 15 GHz band in indoor small cell environment, that new radio interface adapted higher frequency adequate using OFDM MIMO transmission with 400 MHz bandwidth. Based on the field experimental results, we confirm 4 Gbps with high received signal power at LOS environment in an office lobby, although the antenna correlation is high. And at NLOS environment, the received signal power and the antenna correlation is low respectively, so that over 1 Gbps is achieved over the measurement area. On the other hands in passageway, the propagation loss shows good agreement with the theoretical fee space propagation loss near the BS antenna, however it’ s smaller than theory over 17 m away from BS antenna due to the multiple path environment, so that the averaged antenna correlation over the passageway is 0.5. As a result, 5 Gbps is achieved near the BS antenna and around 3 Gbps is achieved up to 120 m distance from BS antenna in LOS environment.
