Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The use of small cell deployments in the heterogeneous networks (HetNet) environment is considered a promising approach to solve the explosion in mobile traffic. In the HetNet using separate frequency spectrum between a macro cell and a small cell, carrier aggregation (CA), which makes it possible to connect macro cell for control signal and small cell for user signal respectively, improves user throughput without degradation of mobility performance. In the case, user equipment (UE) detects plural small cells of the secondary cell (SCell) candidate of CA in the environment in which the large number of small cells are deployed in macro cell area, the small cell of highest signal quality is selected as SCell. However, in such situation, small cell selection with considering the traffic load of each small cell can improve the effectiveness of small cell usage. In this paper, we propose the small cell selection method considering the traffic load. Through the computer simulations, we evaluate the performance of proposed method. And the performance of proposed method with beamforming (BF) that is considered the effective technique to mitigate inter-cell interference is also shown.
