Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) High-Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) is a new mobile communications platform that enables ultrawide coverage and disaster-resilient networks. The HAPS communication system consists of service links that establish communications between HAPS and cellular phones and a feeder link that establishes communication between HAPS and a base station. The feeder link must handle the communication traffic from all cellular phone connected to the service link. To efficiently manage the substantial communication traffic, enhancing the channel capacity through Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) proves effective in the feeder link. However, addressing the challenges posed by the Line-of-Sight (LoS) environment in the HAPS feeder links, coupled with the mobility issues related to HAPS movements and attitude changes, is essential. In this paper, we examine the antenna configuration when applying LoS-MIMO to the HAPS feeder link and assess its performance in terms of mobility through simulation.
