| Abstract(in English) | Many enhancement methods for the visibility improvement of hazy image have been proposed. However, the conventional methods have some problems such as causing unnatural color tones and/or artifacts. In this report, to cope with these problems, we propose an enhancement of hazy image using convex combination coefficients of white, black, and pure color. In the proposed method, multiscale smoothing-based image enhancement is firstly applied to the brightness of an input image in order to obtain a clear and high contrast enhanced image. Then, a scheme using modified gamma transform and histogram specification is applied to the enhanced image in order to obtain a high saturation enhanced image. In the experiments, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by qualitative and quantitative evaluations. |
