A study on figure skater's motion analysis for AI based jump classification

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a method for recording time-series data from MediaPipe Pose and a method for configuring a neural network to classify six types of figure skating jumps. First, this method performs a spatial coordinate transformation of estimated landmarks to unify the body orientations of the athletes. In addition, a two-stage neural network is used to deal with Flip and Lutz, which are difficult to discriminate. Experiments confirmed that our method can classify 60 jump scenes with an accuracy of 72.4%.
