Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The Administration for Children and Families has announced the establishment of the "Anyone Can Go to Preschool System for Children (tentative name)," a preschool benefit system that can be used flexibly regardless of work requirements by FY2026. This system is expected to be most closely related to the current short-term childcare service. The short-term childcare service. is designed to take care of preschool children after regular hours, and parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from preschool. In many cases, however, the gates are locked for safety. Teachers and staff must be responsive to parents. The authors have developed, introduced, and supported the operation of a system that uses IC cards to unlock the door and stamp the child's arrival time in order to reduce the workload of the teachers and staff. However, when parents forget to bring their IC cards, they still need to be attended to as they were before the system was introduced. In order to improve this situation, we developed a system that unlocks and imprints the lock using facial recognition, and migrated the system from October 2022 to the end of April the following year. This report describes the actual implementation, how to deal with backlighting when detecting faces outdoors, and how the information system was revised based on the ideas of faculty members. |
