On Time-Position Detection of Signals under Noise Considering Threshold

Abstract(in English) Conflicts due to neighborhood noise can occur even when the sound pressure level is low. In such cases, the sound pressure level of the target sound is often lower than the background noise. This paper describes a method and its results for estimating the time-position of the target sound using a fractal dimensional filter. To investigate the effectiveness of this filter, a sound whose amplitude fluctuates and whose frequency changes in a short period of time is required as an element of naturalness. One sound that satisfies this condition is the voice of the Schlegel's green frog. The pitch frequency of the voice is constantly changing with time, and the formant frequency is also changing correspondingly. After the time-position estimation, the sound waves were confirmed by voice enhancement processing. As results, the fractal dimension filter is effective as the method for estimating the time-position of sound.
