| Abstract(in English) | On June 14, 2023, the AI Law was adopted by a majority vote at a plenary session of the European Parliament. On the same day, the European Parliament on the AI Law also published amendments from the Commission proposal. These amendments include regulations on remote biometric identification. including the European Parliament's European AI Law Parliamentary amendments to the European AI Law, countries around the world are currently discussing a cautious approach to the use of facial images. This can be attributed to the increasing use of facial images in society, including Clearview. In this report, we will review the past discussions on the regulation of facial image use in Europe, and analyze the current international trends on the regulation of facial image use, referring to recent enforcement cases and other information. |
