Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Time reversal focusing uses multiple transducers in non-destructive testing. Although focusing efficiency decreases, a single element transducer realizes time reversal focusing for a closed environment. This study aims to improve the efficiency of time reversal focusing on a single element using the modulated signal. The focusing performance of a chirp signal of 4-77 kHz exciting an aluminum plate with thickness of 5 mm and size of 150 mm x 150 mm was experimentally evaluated. The experimental results show an amplitude five times greater than that of the sinusoidal drive in the time domain. This result suggests applying the modulated signal is useful for non-destructive testing using time reversal focusing.
