Reconfigurable Reflection Direction and Multi-Band Metasurface Reflector Using Varactor Diodes Mounted Mushroom-Type Structure

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a novel metasurface reflector with considering both reflection directions and frequency bands by using varactor diodes mounted mushroom-type structure. Specifically, two varactor diodes for controlling the reflection direction and frequency band are mounted on the unit cell of the metasurface. Although a wide reflection phase range is required for realizing its proposed reflector, it is difficult due to a large reflection phase difference between each frequency. In this study, the varactor diode mounted single- and multi-via mushroom-type (VDSM/VDMM) structures are proposed to reduce the reflection phase difference between each frequency and realize the wide reflection phase range. As the results, it is observed that the reflectors with two proposed structure could control the reflection direction at selected frequency.
