Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Low earth orbit satellite constellation networks, which consist of multiple low earth orbit satellites, have attracted much attention not only in the field of communications but also in the field of observation because of their ability to provide low latency communications and detailed observations. However, since low earth orbit satellites move with time, it is necessary to relay data generated on the satellites to the ground station and downlink the data to the ground station in order to transmit the data in real time. Since each satellite moves differently in the constellation and the network topology changes over time, the communication path for each satellite to transmit data to the ground station must be determined. In addition, When an inter-satellite link is temporarily unavailable due to a communication terminal failure or the effect of satellite attitude control, communication must be performed avoiding that link. Existing simulators for constellations evaluation can evaluate communication performance under dynamically changing topology, but none of them can evaluate the effects of link failure. Therefore, this paper introduces the existing constellations evaluation simulators and describes the results of the functional enhancement for the evaluation at the time of link failure.
