Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper targets time synchronization using IEEE 802.1AS, a time synchronization protocol, in an Ethernet-based in-vehicle network; it evaluates the effect of network congestion on time synchronization accuracy by experiment. In an in-vehicle network, when congestion occurs between the master and slave, the delay fluctuates, and the delay estimation accuracy decreases, causing a deterioration of time synchronization accuracy. This paper evaluates the time synchronization accuracy by generating congestion in an experimental network consisting of an actual IEEE 802.1AS compliant master, slave, and time synchronization compatible switch. The experimental results show that the shorter the load traffic frame length, the more significant the deterioration in time synchronization accuracy. |
