Abstract(in English) | We aim to improve the presence of aerial images by reproducing the reflected image of aerial images displayed on a specular-reflective surface. This paper proposes a new optical system that can display aerial images on and in a specular-reflective surface simply by placing it on the surface and a luminance representation method to reproduce the reflected image for each type of specular-reflective surface. Using the implemented prototype and four materials prepared as specular-reflective surfaces (a desk with a transparent acrylic sheet, a black acrylic sheet, a marble-like film, and a surface mirror), we confirmed that aerial images can be displayed on and in the horizontal surface, and discussed differences in the appearance of aerial and reflected images caused by differences in reflectance and patterns of the materials. |
