Abstract(in English) | In recent years, optical eigenvalue communication based on inverse scattering transform has attracted much attention because the optical eigenvalues are not affected by nonlinear distortion. We have proposed a mul- tilevel modulation scheme using on-off states of eigenvalues and reported the feasibility of the 50-km transmission of the 4096-ary eigenvalue-modulated signal. In this paper, we propose to apply a neural network demodulator and soft-decision forward error correction to the 4096-ary eigenvalue-modulated signal to extend the transmission distance. Finally, we experimentally demonstrate an error-free transmission over 1200 km of the 4096-ary eigenval- ue-modulated signal using the proposed method. |
