| Abstract(in English) | Local 5G was institutionalized in 2019, and is expected to be a foundation for digital use by companies and communities, not only because of its high-speed communication and low latency performance, but also because of its flexible installation and robustness as a self-owned network that companies and local governments can utilize exclusively. In this lecture, the status of the popularity of Local 5G will be explained by introducing demonstration projects in industry, government, and academia, efforts by the “Local 5G Popularization Study Group,” an industry organization, and implementation examples from various companies. The presentation will also discuss the prospects for implementation of the technology, the direction of radio policy, and issues related to the operation of the system, which are necessary for the technology to be used more widely in the future. |
