[Invited Talk] Biometric Authentication Research Based on Behavioral Characteristics

Abstract(in English) In this talk, we first give an overview of biometric authentication based on biological characteristics such as fingerprint and face, or behavioral characteristics such as signature and voice. Next, we explain the biometric authentication research based on behavioral characteristics of smartphone that we have been conducting for over 10 years. Specifically, we describe the studies that extract characteristics in touch operations or walking from the touch sensor or the acceleration sensor built into smartphone, and identify and/or authenticate individuals using machine learning including deep learning. Furthermore, as a development of these studies, we introduce research such as elderly identification and motion estimation using not only smartphone but also various sensors.
