Study of organic solar cell compared with widegap hole transport layers having different HOMO level

Abstract(in English) The light absorption spectrum of the active layer greatly affects the photoelectric conversion characteristics in organic thin-film solar cells. In this study, we inserted a wide-gap organic semiconductor as a hole transport layer to widen the optical band and transfer excitation energy for the active layer. By comparing two wide-gap hole transport layers with different highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) levels, we find that when the HOMO level difference between the active layer and the wide-gap hole transport layer is large, the current-voltage characteristics are S-shaped.
