Optical alignment of LED backhaul based on object detection

Abstract(in English) Research on optical wireless communication (OWC) is underway towards 6G. In high throughput OWC, optical axis alignment between OWC transceivers is one of the challenges. This study utilizes object detection using deep learning for optical axis alignment of near infrared LED backhaul with 600 Mbps throughput. It has been demonstrated that optical axis alignment can be achieved by the detection and the mechanical angle adjustment of the LED backhaul. Average precision of the LED backhaul and communication throughput after optical axis alignment are evaluated under conditions with ambient light such as LED lighting.
