Abstract(in English) | With the growth of cloud computing, the demand for high bandwidth and low latency data center networks continues to increase. In NTT's IOWN concept, the aim is to connect data centers and computing resources, which are distributed in remote locations, quickly and efficiently using next-generation optical communication technology. As a key technology in this endeavor, we are focusing on Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA). In our previous study, we proposed a method to extend the effective distance of conventional RDMA by using pseudo-ACK function, and showed its effectiveness through implementation evaluation. While this enabled high-speed data transfer regardless of distance, it had limitations on reliability in that it disabled packet loss detection and retransmission mechanisms. In this paper, we introduce a communication segment adaptive retransmission mechanism to solve the reliability issues of the previous studies. This enables the completion of retransmission in a shorter time compared to conventional RDMA while maintaining long-distance high-speed performance. We implement and evaluate the proposed scheme and show its effectiveness. |
