A Study on Real-time Position Estimation System for Non-Line of Sight Obstacles Using Reflected Images

Abstract(in English) In this paper, the construction of a system that uses reflected images to estimate the position of obstacles that exist outside the line of sight in real time is described. Since a system that use stereo cameras to estimate the position of obstacles using reflected images on the sides of other vehicles around the vehicle and on reflective surfaces such as off-road structures has been proposed. However, a prototype system that can estimate the position of an NLOS obstacle in real time has not be constructed. In this paper, we construct a prototype system that can estimate the position of an NLOS obstacle, and results of the performance evaluation shows that the constructed system estimates the position of non-line-of-sight obstacles with an average processing speed of 66 ms and a position estimation error rate of about 8.4% compared to the real-line image measurements.
