Improvement of a Web Application Supporting the Creation of Tactile Maps on Swell Paper

Abstract(in English) Tactile maps allow visual impairments to comprehend spatial information through touch. We have developed and been using a web application for creating tactile maps, but this app lacks some functionalities. Thus, we developed a new app, which has stamps tailored for outdoor tactile maps and the similar user interface to general drawing software. In addition to these improvements, we have created two tools: one for automatically extracting lines from raster images and converting them into vector images, and another for transforming downloaded vector images from the internet into editable formats. These tools reduce the map creation workload.
