Development of a signature field guidance system for handwriting support of visually impaired individuals using image analysis

Abstract(in English) In this study, we developed a signature field guidance system for the purpose of writing assistance for visually impaired people. This system detects characters from images of documents such as contracts using YOLO, an object detection method. Then, it identifies the position of the signature field by image processing and conveys the direction to the signature field by voice, thus supporting visually impaired people to sign contracts by themselves. We conducted experiments to show that this system is effective as a writing assistance for blind people to sign contracts by themselves.
