| 抄録(和) | 高度な経済成長に伴い、身体不活動なライフスタイルが蔓延している。身体不活動は体力の低下や体重の増加をもたらし、癌、心血管疾患、２型糖尿病などのあらゆる疾病罹患リスクを増加させる。うつ病や認知症といった脳の疾病に関しても例外ではなく、身体不活動によって罹患リスクが増加する。最近では、身体運動が認知機能を向上させることが示されており、脳の健康の維持・増進に対する身体運動の効果が注目されている。本講演では、身体運動と脳の健康の関係を調べたこれまでの研究を概説するとともに、我々が学術変革領域研究A「生涯学の創出−超高齢社会における発達・加齢観の刷新」の公募班として推進している研究成果について紹介する。 |
| 抄録(英) | The prevalence of physically inactive lifestyles in high-income countries raises serious health concerns. A physically inactive lifestyle causes a reduction in physical fitness and an increase in body mass, which in turn, increases the risks of various disease, such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and type-2 diabetes. Physical inactivity also increases the morbidity associated with neurological disorders, such as depression and dementia. Recently, physical exercise has been shown to improve cognitive function, and the effects of physical exercise on the maintenance and promotion of brain health have attracted attention. In this presentation, I will outline research to date that has investigated the relationship between physical exercise and brain health, and introduce the results of research that we are promoting as a Publicly Offered Research of Transformative Research Areas (A) “Lifelong Sciences: Reconceptualization of development and aging in the super aging society”. |
