Novel Evaluation Method for Radio Anechoic Chambers Based on MIMO Radar Image

抄録(和) The radio anechoic chamber is an isolated space, cut off from the outside world, and is an essential measurement space for evaluating antenna and radar performance. The primary performance of the anechoic chamber depends largely on whether the antenna under test is located in a far-region or not, and whether it can receive only direct waves. The former almost determines the size of the anechoic chamber, while the latter determines the measurement accuracy. This paper discusses a method for evaluating the direct wave purity of the latter. This purity is called the quiet-zone (QZ) and is defined as the degree to which the measured frequency signal from the test antenna contains reflected waves from the walls of the anechoic chamber in addition to direct waves. Traditionally, the free-space method is used to evaluate QZ. In this paper, we present a new measurement method based on the radar imaging principle from the above traditional method, which has the advantages to measure all frequencies of reflectivity in a single measurement and to evaluate all chamber coordinates of reflectivity as an image.
