Abstract(in English) This paper proposes shared containers, which can be used by multiple applications simultaneously in an MEC environment. Shared containers reduce the number of containers with the same role, reduce resource consumption, shorten application startup time, and efficiently manage special hardware (e.g., GPU) resources. We compared the case in which 16 applications use a shared container with the case in which each application contains the code of the shared container. The results showed that the shared container reduces memory consumption by about 190 MiB. We also compared the case in which 10 applications access the GPU via a shared container and the case in which each application accesses the GPU. The GPU task cannot be executed simultaneously due to GPU memory restriction. The results showed that the shared container reduces the GPU response time by about 42 seconds.
