Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper argues that the harm caused by databases and algorithms is due to a failure of not being distributed fairly. The traditional argument about harm is structured in this way. First, as a starting point percep-tion of harm caused by databases or algorithms is subjective. Second, it points to the possibility that causing harm is an iherent to it. Third, it points out the actual problems that databases and algorithms cause. However, the problematic nature of this argument is that to state that non-subjective harm is possible. It is necessary to state the existence of objective harm and to presuppose the inherent nature of human beings. Furthermore, it is complex to de?ne non-subjective harm and a de?nition of inherent nature requires much discussion. For this reason, in this paper therefore focuses on the normative nature of rightness, and points out that the cause of harm lies in the fact that rightness is not equally distributed between databases, algorithms and humans. Finally, it is proposes that in order to avoid the complex arguments and to simlify the meaning of non-subjective harm, a perspective to see the problem as a matter of rightness is necessary.
