Investigation of vibration modes of pipe rings using finite element analysis

Abstract(in English) Vibration modes occurring in a toroidal pipe were investigated by finite element analysis. Among the various vibration modes, we focused on the axisymmetric vibration mode of the cross-section of a circular pipe and obtained the dispersion characteristics of the vibration mode with respect to the diameter of the toroidal pipe. The frequency of elastic waves propagating in a circular pipe is determined by the cross-sectional shape, but there was an interesting relationship with the diameter of the toroidal pipe, which determines the propagation path length. It was also confirmed that vibrational mode rotation was obtained by exciting two isomorphic vibration modes that were shifted by a quarter wavelength from each other with a time phase difference of 90 degrees.
