Abstract(in English) | In recent years, traffic congestion has become a problem due to the increased vehicles. Traffic congestion is one of the issues that must solved as it causes various social losses. Platoon driving is technology in which multiple vehicles drive cooperatively by sharing vehicle driving information using Inter-vehicle communication to reduce traffic congestion. Many studies have been conducted on reducing traffic congestion using platoon driving. Still, most assume an environment with only autonomous vehicles and do not assume an environment with a mix of manual vehicles. This paper proposes an enhanced platooning method to reduce congestion in mixed traffic scenarios of autonomous and manual vehicles. Autonomous vehicles consider the traffic density of manual vehicles, reducing congestion. We experimented using a traffic flow simulator and evaluated the congestion reduction effect. We also evaluated the traffic volume of inter-vehicle communication using a mathematical model. |
