Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Society 5.0 aims to solve problems in social systems through the intercommunication of small devices. On the other hand, it is important to ensure cyber security. In particular, small devices in the industrial field require both high real-time performance for production efficiency and protection of confidential corporate information. Therefore, several lightweight block ciphers have been proposed as anti-eavesdropping techniques oriented towards low-latency operation. SuperSonic, which is based on the representative cipher Simon, is one of them. On the other hand, it is important not only to apply computationally secure lightweight block ciphers but also to evaluate their tamper resistance as a security factor when implemented on hardware. Thus, this study evaluates the tamper resistance of the low-latency block cipher SuperSonic when implemented on FPGAs. For the evaluation experiments, this study proposes a profiling deep learning analysis method oriented to SuperSonic using power consumption. Experimental results also show that SuperSonic is tamper-resistant against the conventional cipher Simon, which has been shown to be vulnerable.
