High aperture-efficiency design of a circularly polarized folded reflectarray

Abstract(in English) This technical report presents a method of realizing desired aperture-field distribution of low-profile circularly polarized folded reflectarrays composed of circular polarization selective surface (CPSS) and a reflectarray (RA). Inspired by reflector shaping, the reflection-phase distributions of the CPSS and the RA are modified in order to realize uniform aperture-field distribution without having spillover, which leads to higher aperture efficiency. The elements of the CPSS and the RA are designed, and the reflection-phase distributions for the uniform aperture field are realized by tuning the rotation angle of the CPSS elements and the size of the RA elements.
