Impact of Spectral Grooming Strategies on Accommodation Efficiency and Economics in Spatial Channel Network

Abstract(in English) To accommodate future Internet traffic in a scalable and economical manner, the scalable and cost-effective spatial channel network (SCN) architecture has recently been proposed. In this study, we implement traffic demands routing schemes designed to improve the efficiency of core resource utilization and reduce node costs in the RSWA algorithm used for route calculation and spatial/spectral resource allocation in SCN, and evaluate them by SCN technoeconomic simulation. We also report the results of changing the percentage of grooming nodes used for spectral grooming and analyze the effective percentage for both improved efficiency of core resource utilization and economic efficiency.
